ABOUT CAROLINE KISKO
Caroline Kisko is a canine welfare expert, a seasoned media commentator, and a dedicated charitable trustee.
For more than two decades, she served as Secretary and Director of Communications at The Kennel Club (now The Royal Kennel Club). Through this extensive tenure, Caroline Kisko became one of the UK’s most respected authorities on responsible dog ownership, breeding standards, and public policy.
As an established voice in the field, Caroline Kisko authors regularly for national publications. She has written for titles including The Independent, providing expert views on training and welfare. Furthermore, broadcasters have frequently invited Caroline to contribute commentary for Crufts and other wider public-interest television programming.
Philanthropic leadership defines Caroline's work beyond the commercial sector. She serves as a trustee for The Jean Lanning Foundation, an organization supporting healthcare projects within the NHS. .
TIMELINE
1998
Caroline joined The Kennel Club as External Relations Executive in 1998, developing its PR function and parliamentary lobbying work across the UK and European Parliaments.
2000
In 2000 Caroline was appointed Secretary of The Kennel Club, with responsibility for membership development, the Club’s art and library collections, and its dog health, welfare, and breeding remit.
Caroline also served concurrently as Director of Communications, becoming one of the Kennel Club’s most visible leaders and official spokesperson on dog welfare, health, breeding, and legislation. She regularly represented the organisation in national media and at major events including Crufts and Discover Dogs.
Caroline played a central role in defending and repositioning the Kennel Club during major public scrutiny, including the aftermath of Pedigree Dogs Exposed and the alleged poisoning of a dog at Crufts.
During this time, Caroline also gave evidence to the UK Parliament’s Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee on the Draft Animal Welfare Bill and led high-profile advocacy on issues including Public Space Protection Orders, DNA testing schemes, breed health initiatives, and responsible dog ownership.
